If his request is granted:
- He would mine 400’ or less from nearest resident. (now mining at 4000’)
- He would mine 3500’ from riverside residents! (now mining at 7500’)
- His new Rock Processing Area would be less then a mile from the Inglis center:
If current practice is followed, it would operate 24 hours a day.
To do this Hollins needs:
- Permits from the State of Florida
- Changes in local Citrus County zoning designations
- Changes in local Citrus County mine setback regulations
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
You Can:
- Attend in mass and represent INGLIS Citizens at the next Citrus County;
Meeting is scheduled for December 21st at 9AM.
- Send a letter from the Inglis Commission to the Citrus County Commission OFFICIALLY
opposing the granting of Hollins’ requests on the grounds that it will negatively affect
the health and welfare of a large part of the community.
- Request the Levy County Commission to do the same.
- Encourage the town citizens to attend.
Virtually the entire town has standing in this matter as we will ALL be affected by any change
in the current mining operation.
See the below map to see the extent of the impact. The threat to the Inglis community is REAL
